An enlargement changes the size of a shape while maintaining its shape. The scale factor k determines the size: k > 1 makes it bigger, 0 < k < 1 makes it smaller, k < 0 inverts and scales it.
To perform an enlargement: from the centre of enlargement, measure the distance to each vertex of the original shape, multiply by the scale factor, and plot the image vertices at those new distances.
To describe an enlargement: state it's an enlargement, give the scale factor (found by comparing corresponding lengths), and give the centre (found by drawing lines through corresponding vertices - they meet at the centre).
